Looking to start your own business on the web? eCommerce web hosting could be for you. In this post, we will go over the differences between eCommerce web hosting and normal web hosting and when you should use eCommerce web hosting.

What is eCommerce web hosting?

eCommerce web hosting is very similar to normal web hosting. There is one core difference, though.

With normal web hosting, you usually get access to a Cpanel. Within that Cpanel, you can install many scripts. These scripts can be anything – blogs, forum systems, content management systems, etc.

With eCommerce web hosting, all (or many) of these scripts are focused around eCommerce. You will have multiple options on what eCommerce script to use. The web hosting company will probably also provide support for these eCommerce scripts, incase you have a problem with them.

When to get eCommerce web hosting?

Usually, you can get eCommerce web hosting that would work for just about anything. Many of the large web hosting companies give you access to a lot of eCommerce tools as well as other tools (such as blogs, forum systems, content management systems, etc.)

Sometimes, though, there are eCommerce web hosting plans that are specially for eCommerce. You can still probably set up any website manually, but the scripts that the web host provides are only eCommerce related.

You can host a non-eCommerce website on a eCommerce web hosting plan. You can host an eCommerce website on a non-eCommerce plan. You don’t necessary need eCommerce web hosting to host an eCommerce website – it’s nice to have though. You can usually get support related to eCommerce from your web host.

Just look for a plan that suits you. Usually, most hosting plans are also eCommerce web hosting plans, so you should have no problem finding one.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
